what I'm doing. who I'm reading. where I'm going. my home away from home.
I quit
As some of you know, I already quit one big thing this week. More on that later.
I’ve decided to use Mother’s Day to make my moms proud, since I can’t be with my moms today, and not really communicating with either of them at the moment (yes, I have an average of two moms, depending on who’s counting).
Today, May 11, 2008, I quit:
- The nasty, deadly, shameful, hypocrytical little habit I’ve recently picked up to deal with recent stress. Smoking kills.
- Talking about myself so much, especially on Twitter and my blog. I’m not that interesting alone. With others, we can add value to the conversation.
- Spending needlessly. Due to some life changes, I have heightened awareness of how much money I spend on things I don’t need. Creating a budget, and sticking to it.
I’m interested in hearing your thoughts (suggestions on how to do any/all of this, your struggles with similar problems, etc etc), so I’m going to add a comment feature (probably Disqus). I’m the meantime, you know where to find me.
I didn’t post this on my blog because (1) See point #2 above, (2) no time to waste expanding on all this to keep with the tone, style, and content and (3) I want to gauge what, if anything, people actually want to hear more about!
Can you help??
ps. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. If by some odd chance read this, Mom and Brigitte, I love you very much.
